Hidden Treasures

A lifelong communion with nature and the fir forest in particular has taught me to listen to a unique voice. In this communion my artistry has its origins. An exploration of organic form, color and structure where I work in dialogue with wood and silver. The hidden and concealed potentials of the materials together with my revelations, interpretations and insights about the shadowy, mysterious fir forests becomes the utmost source for my work. Through the constant act of doing and touching the materials goes through layers of grinding, carving, forging and dyeing to get their identity. Jewellery and objects that binds together body and mind and that invite a curiosity to see the complexity of nature from a new perspective. Tender works that call for carrying, touch and reflection. A reminder of an elemental and emotional bond with material and the relationship to the earth.

Hidden Treasures consists of works in silver, birch and apple wood. Where there once were branches growing on the tree trunk something resembling mushrooms and strange shapes in silver is now growing out. Inside the bark of the apple branches hides a lively pattern that is reinforced by firing. Mysterious and enigmatic with the common denominator that they are all necklaces that can be picked out from the tree trunk and threaded over and around the body. The placement of the jewellery stays in connection with the core of the body, close to the heart.
