Feelings transformed
Every morning before leaving home, I go to the jewelry box and put on my watch, which is a 25th-anniversary gift from my parents, a silver bracelet I received from my husband, and a silver chain from my mother-in-law. This daily ritual helps me to feel ready to tackle the problems. My relationship with the jewelry makes me feel safe, it is like having knight armor while leaving home. What is your relationship with jewelry?
During this project, I have shifted my interest. Instead of myself, I researched other people’s relationships with jewelry to broaden my understanding of the link between a wearer and jewelry. By conducting interviews, I transformed their feelings into jewelry by listening, translating, and finding these feelings in myself.
